The afterschool program offers a wide range of expanded learning opportunities. Classes are held daily on school days, starting right after school until 6:00 p.m. in a campus classroom for students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. The Afterschool Program is coordinated through PCSD Community Education, Todd Klarich, Director, and is funded by tuition based on a sliding household income scale. The goal is to provide a safe, educational, and enriching environment for children and provide a quality child care option for parents.

Afterschool activities are designed to provide expanded learning experiences that, not only enhance a student’s classroom performance but encourage development of the student’s life skills. Activities that create higher thinking, character development, social emotional skills, physical fitness, and academic skill-building make for a quality program. The program adheres to the National Quality Standards of School Age Programming and follows objectives and goals that pertain to the individual program needs that meet quality standards.

The Afterschool program provides a “camp” experience which fosters friendships and cooperation.
