You can expect math homework Monday through Thursday. Regular review of math facts is a great help to all fourth graders. Here are two web sites with flash cards your child may enjoy: Math Flashcards and Multiplication

You can expect spelling homework Monday through Thursday. We will always take our spelling tests on Friday mornings.

Don’t forget that the kids need to read three books this month. The kids need to read three books, not just 300 pages. Poetry, cartoon books, the Captain Underpants books and picture books are great, but do not count toward our reading goal. Books should be at least 100 pages, but 120 pages are more suitable for fourth graders. The kids are welcome to read longer books, but they are difficult to get through. I would suggest three 120 pages books rather than one 300 page book. Remember that partial books are not acceptable. Illustrated Classics are wonderful books, the words are big, there is a picture on every page, but remember that those books count as one book even though they all have 238 pages. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are also fun, but also count as just one book.

On September 19, we went to Strawberry Reservoir. We had a great time!
